Germany - Host of the Meeting of the International Directory

On April 10th to 15th, Hamburg - Germany, was hosting the Meeting of the International Directory, headed by the IP Eberhard Wirfs / Margrit.
It was a memorable meeting and atypical.
Memorable because in a country with a history of fight, conflicts, wars that destroyed this nation and that in an example of claw, work and sacrifices of its people make it resurge of the ashes and become one of the greatest nations of the world. Its history chocks, enchant and captivate tourists and visitors.
Memorable because the German people was the perfect host, starting with the lions of Hamburg, the authorities, the Team of LCI, the President couple Wirfs-Margit, that left indelible marks in the hearts of all members of the Directory and participants of this meeting.
Memorable because the President Eberhard, very happy and recognized, annunciated the biggest growing of the last years - more than 27000 liquid members, of which more than 17000 are women. He praised the decisions approved by the Directory, important for the future of LIONS.
The President of  LCIF Al Brandel presented the actions of Lions in the recovery and assistance to the victims in Haiti, with investments of more than 4,8 million dollars, in a demonstration of strength, solidarity, and service of Lions and Leo families.
We detach the presence of the Vice-President Sid Scruggs- Judy, Vice-President Tam, Former Presidents Mahendra Amarasuriya, Kushi, Tae Sup Lee- H , Joseph Wroblewsky, Apointees, members of the board...
And it was an atypical meeting because on Thursday, the day of the closure of the meeting, when all the participants had their back scheduled, the ashes of a volcano contaminated the air and prevented the arrival and departures of planes in Europe.
A aerial chaos, worse than the fateful September 11th.
But we believe that everything will be all right, with the safe return of everybody, plenty of faith and hope with Lions.
